2024 Toyota Crown: A Perfect Premium Sedan

Toyota has announced the 2024 Toyota Crown, its newest entry in the premium sedan segment. In the North American market, this new vehicle replaces the Avalon and offers a unique combination of executive style, athletic performance, and SUV-like passenger capacity. This article will go over some of the important features and characteristics of the 2024 Toyota Crown.

2024 Toyota Crown Price in US dollars

The base XLE variant of the 2023 Toyota Crown is estimated to cost $39,950, with the top-of-the-line Platinum trim costing $49,950. These prices are comparable to those of other premium sedans in the segment, such the Lexus ES, Acura TLX, and Hyundai Genesis G80.

2024 Toyota Crown Fuel Efficiency

The 2023 Toyota Crown’s hybrid powertrain offers great fuel efficiency and performance. A 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine, electric motor, and battery pack produce 236 horsepower in the XLE and Limited models. The Platinum model has a 340-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and battery pack.

Toyota claims the hybrid system can deliver up to 41 mpg combined for the XLE and Limited trims and 34 for the Platinum trim. This luxury sedan’s numbers are great.

2024 Toyota Crown Engine

As previously stated, depending on the model level, the 2023 Toyota Crown has two engine options. Both engines are mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) in the XLE and Limited trims, or a direct shift-6AT six-speed automatic transmission in the Platinum trim. Both transmissions come standard with all-wheel drive, which improves traction and stability.

Toyota’s Dynamic Force Engine technology underpins the 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine, which enhances combustion efficiency, thermal efficiency, and power output. Variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i), direct injection (D-4S), and an electronic water pump are also included in the engine.

The 2.4-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine employs Toyota’s Dynamic Force Turbo Engine technology, which includes a twin-scroll turbocharger, an air-to-water intercooler, direct injection (D-4ST), and variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-iW). In addition, the engine has an automatic wastegate valve and an integrated exhaust manifold.

Security Features

The 2023 Toyota Crown comes standard with a comprehensive set of safety systems intended to help prevent collisions, protect occupants, and assist drivers. Among these features are:

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: This system detects automobiles, pedestrians, bicycles, or motorcyclists in front of the vehicle and provides an audio/visual warning if a collision is imminent using a camera and radar. If the driver fails to respond, the system may engage in automatic emergency braking.

Complete Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: This technology employs radar to keep a predetermined distance from the car ahead when travelling at speeds greater than 20 mph. The technology can also modify the speed based on traffic flow and return to the original pace when the road is clear.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: This system detects lane markings or road borders using a camera and provides an audio/visual warning if the vehicle drifts out of its lane. If the driver does not correct the steering, the system can provide modest steering assistance to keep the car in its lane.

Lane Tracing Assist: This technology use a camera and radar to track lane markings or the previous vehicle and provides active driving assistance to keep the car centered in its lane. In addition, the system analyzes the driver’s inputs and informs the driver if they are not attentive or responsive.

Road Sign Assist: This technology detects and displays speed limit signs, stop signs, do not enter signs, yield signs, and some warning signs on the multi-information display using a camera.

Automatic High Beams: This technology detects other vehicles’ headlights or taillights and switches between high and low beams to improve visibility at night.

External Appearance

The appearance of the 2023 Toyota Crown is intriguing and reflects its dynamic personality. A massive black mesh grille with chrome elements dominates the front fascia, which also has LED headlights with adaptive cornering lights, LED daytime running lights, and LED fog lights. A sloping roofline, sculpted fenders, chrome window trim, and 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels characterize the side appearance. LED taillights with sequential turn signals, a dual exhaust system with chrome tips, and a rear spoiler are all part of the rear fascia.

The exterior colors of the 2023 Toyota Crown are Supersonic Red, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Blueprint, Opulent Amber, Ruby Flare Pearl, and Harbor Gray Metallic. Some colors are limited to specific trim levels or demand an additional price.
