The Tata Nexon, one of the most popular compact SUVs in India, is set to receive a major update in the coming months. The Nexon facelift will feature a new design, new features, new engines and possibly a new gearbox. Here are the top five things you need to know about the upcoming Tata Nexon 2023 facelift.
1. Tata Nexon facelift Launch Date and Price
According to sources, the Tata Nexon facelift will go on sale by August 2023. The production of the new model will commence by July 2023 at the Ranjangaon plant. The Nexon facelift is expected to be pricier than the current model, which starts from Rs 7.80 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Nexon could be pricier by Rs 50,000.
2. Exterior Design

The Nexon facelift will get a major makeover in terms of exterior design. The new model will borrow some design cues from the Tata Curvv concept, which was showcase at the 2023 Auto Expo. The front end will feature a twin-part grille with diamond-shaped inserts, a full-width LED light bar above the grille, a flatter nose and a newly designed headlamp positioned lower down. The side profile will remain largely unchanged except for new alloy wheels. The rear end will get new tail-lamps with a connected LED light bar, dynamic turn signals and a flatter tailgate.

3. Interior and Features
The Nexon facelift will also get a major upgrade in terms of interior and features. The dashboard design will be tweak and the new 10.25-inch touchscreen, which recently made its debut on the Harrier and Safari SUVs, will be include on the Nexon facelift as well. The infotainment system will be more fluid and responsive and will offer various connectivity options. The instrument cluster will also get a digital dial and the steering wheel will resemble the Curvv concept with haptic touch controls and an illuminated logo. Some of the other features that to be offer on the Nexon facelift are:
- A bigger sunroof
- Cooled seats
- A 360-degree camera
- Paddle shifters
- Wireless charging pad
- ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System)

4. Engine and Gearbox
The Nexon facelift is expected to get updated engines that will offer better performance and efficiency. The current model offers a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 120hp and 170Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 110hp and 260Nm of torque. Both engines are paire with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The Nexon facelift could get a dual-clutch automatic gearbox instead of the AMT gearbox, as suggested by the spy images that show a Park mode on the gear lever. The Nexon EV facelift is also expected to launch along with the regular model, with some cosmetic changes and possibly more range.
5. Variants and Competition of Tata Nexon facelift
The Tata Nexon facelift is likely to be offer in multiple variants with different combinations of features and powertrains. The current model offers six variants – XE, XM, XMA, XZ, XZ+ and XZ+(O) – for both petrol and diesel engines. The Nexon EV offers three variants – XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux – with different battery capacities and charging options. The Nexon facelift will compete with other compact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Magnite.
The Tata Nexon facelift is one of the most awaited launches of this year. It promises to offer a fresh look, more features, better performance and more value for money than its predecessor. Stay tuned for more updates on the Tata Nexon 2023 facelift.
