Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the Indian car market with a whopping 1,34,158 units sold in November 2023. However, this was a 20.1% drop from the 1,68,047 units sold in November 2022. Maruti Suzuki’s market share also declined from 49.9% to 46.8% in the same period. The company’s best-selling models were the Swift, Baleno, Wagon R, Alto and Dzire.
Hyundai
Hyundai was the second most popular car brand in India with 49,451 units sold in November 2023. This was a 10.3% decrease from the 55,128 units sold in November 2022. Hyundai’s market share also slipped from 16.4% to 17.2% in the same period. The company’s top-selling models were the Creta, Venue, i20, Grand i10 Nios and Santro.
Tata Motors
Tata Motors was the third most preferred car brand in India with 46,070 units sold in November 2023. This was a 4.7% decline from the 48,343 units sold in November 2022. Tata Motors’ market share also dipped from 14.4% to 16.1% in the same period. The company’s best-selling models were the Nexon, Tiago, Altroz, Harrier and Tigor.
Mahindra
Mahindra was the fourth most popular car brand in India with 39,981 units sold in November 2023. This was an 8.5% drop from the 43,708 units sold in November 2022. Mahindra’s market share also fell from 13% to 13.9% in the same period. The company’s top-selling models were the Bolero, XUV300, Scorpio, Thar and XUV500.
Kia
Kia was the fifth most preferred car brand in India with 22,762 units sold in November 2023. This was a 6.5% decrease from the 24,351 units sold in November 2022. Kia’s market share also reduced from 7.2% to 7.9% in the same period. The company’s best-selling models were the Seltos, Sonet, Carnival and Soul.
Toyota
Toyota was the sixth most popular car brand in India with 16,924 units sold in November 2023. This was a 17.6% drop from the 20,542 units sold in November 2022. Toyota’s market share also declined from 6.1% to 5.9% in the same period. The company’s top-selling models were the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Glanza, Urban Cruiser and Yaris.
Honda
Honda was the seventh most preferred car brand in India with 8,730 units sold in November 2023. This was a 7.1% decrease from the 9,400 units sold in November 2022. Honda’s market share also slipped from 2.8% to 3% in the same period. The company’s top-selling models were the City, Amaze, Jazz, WR-V and Civic.
MG Motor India
MG Motor India was the eighth most popular car brand in India with 4,154 units sold in November 2023. This was an 18.7% drop from the 5,108 units sold in November 2022. MG Motor India’s market share also fell from 1.5% to 1.4% in the same period. The company’s best-selling models were the Hector, ZS EV, Gloster and Astor.
Skoda
Skoda was the ninth most preferred car brand in India with 3,783 units sold in November 2023. This was a 17.2% drop from the 4,566 units sold in November 2022. Skoda’s market share also declined from 1.4% to 1.3% in the same period. The company’s top-selling models were the Kushaq, Rapid, Octavia and Superb.
VW
VW was the tenth most popular car brand in India with 3,095 units sold in November 2023. This was a 24.3% drop from the 4,087 units sold in November 2022. VW’s market share also reduced from 1.2% to 1.1% in the same period. The company’s top-selling models were the Taigun, Polo, Vento and T-Roc.
