The 2024 Chevrolet Trax will likely be a four-door, five-seat compact SUV based on the same platform as its predecessor; however, with more modern and refined design. Exact measurements for this new Trax have yet to be announce but we can estimate them using current Trax models and spy shots as guides.

Spy shots show a prototype for the 2024 Chevrolet Trax that appears similar to current Trax models in terms of proportions but with a sleeker, sportier design. Based on these images, we can estimate that its dimensions could range between 170 inches long, 70 inches wide, 65 inches tall and its wheelbase could measure approximately 100 inches.

These dimensions would make the 2024 Chevrolet Trax slightly shorter than some of its rivals, including the Honda HR-V (172 inches long), Hyundai Kona (164 inches long) and Kia Seltos (172); yet larger than others like Ford EcoSport (161 inches long), Nissan Kicks (179) inches long, or Toyota C-HR (172).

Boot Space

Cargo Capacity for the 2024 Chevrolet Trax should also be an important consideration when shopping for a compact SUV. After all, you need enough room for all your luggage, groceries and other essential items you may need to transport.

Unfortunately, we do not yet have official figures regarding the 2024 Chevrolet Trax’s boot space; however, we can make some educated estimates based on current Trax models and spy shots.

Spy shots reveal that the 2024 Chevrolet Trax would have had both a medium-sized trunk in the rear, as well as a frunk or front trunk under its hood. It would likely have had similar dimensions to existing Trax models which have an approximate volume of 19 cubic feet when all rear seats are folded down and around 13 cubic feet with rear seats up. Folded down, this SUV would have had 48 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the seats folded down and an estimated frunk space of two cubic feet compared to current Trax models which boast around two cubic feet of frunk space. These estimates lead us to believe that 2024 Chevrolet Trax may have featured an approximate trunk space of 18 cubic feet compared to 2 cubic feet currently found on current Trax models.
With the rear seats up, frunk space was approximately one cubic foot; by folding them down, this could have increased to 47 cubic feet in the trunk and 1 cubic foot in the frunk.

These numbers would put the 2024 Chevrolet Trax on par with some of its competitors, such as the Honda HR-V (24/58 cubic feet), Hyundai Kona (19/46 cubic feet), etc.
Kia Seltos (27/63 cubic feet). However, it would fall behind other vehicles like Ford EcoSport (20/50 cubic feet), Nissan Kicks (25/53 cubic feet) and Toyota C-HR (19/37 cubic feet).

2024 Chevrolet Trax Ground Clearance

Ground Clearance or Ride Height for compact SUVs has an impactful effect on their performance, comfort, and safety. It measures the distance from the lowest point on their vehicle’s body to the ground surface below it.
Ground clearance can help a compact SUV navigate uneven terrain, avoid obstacles and navigate snow or water without encountering problems, but increasing its height could compromise stability, handling or aerodynamics.

Lower ground clearance can improve fuel economy, cornering or braking abilities in a compact SUV; however, it also makes the vehicle more vulnerable to scraping, bottoming out or getting stuck.

Ground clearance requirements for compact SUVs depend on your driving style, road conditions and personal preference.

Based on current Chevy Trax models and spy shots, it is anticipated that the 2024 Chevy Trax will have an approximate ground clearance of 7 inches.

Spy shots show that the 2024 Chevrolet Trax would have featured a low ride height and adjustable suspension system that could raise or lower it by one inch. Ground clearance would vary depending on driving mode; sport mode having lower ground clearance than comfort mode.

From the images provided, we can estimate that the 2024 Chevrolet Trax would have had a ground clearance of approximately 7 inches in regular mode and 8 inches for off-road use.

This ground clearance would make the 2024 Chevrolet Trax ideal for most urban and suburban driving situations, as well as light off-roading. Furthermore, its lower ground clearance compares favorably to some rivals such as Honda’s HR-V (8/9 inches), Hyundai Kona (7/8 inches) and Mazda CX-3 (6 inches).
Kia Seltos stands 7/8 inches. However, it would be higher than others such as Ford EcoSport (7/8 inches), Nissan Kicks (7/8 inches), and Toyota C-HR (6/7 inches).

Summary
